Featured Wildlife

Salmon

All five species of Alaskan salmon are found in Wrangell: king, chum, pink, coho and sockeye. Peak fishing season for salmon ranges from May through September, depending on the species, although king salmon can be caught year round.

Bears

Brown and black bears are abundant in Wrangell and can be seen on bear-viewing tours and excursions. They feed on the salmon in nearby rivers.

Muskeg Meadows — The Wrangell Golf Club is a non-profit organization created by local golf enthusiasts.
