Trophy Sitka black-tail deer, black bear and waterfowl are abundant on Prince of Wales Island.

Canoe the 30-mile Honker Divide canoe route or the 15-mile Sarkar canoe route.

Walk Beaver Falls Karst Interpretive Trail through an old-growth forest and then go for a U.S. Forest Service guided tour of El Capitan Cave.

Take a road trip on the island's many miles of Forest Service logging roads and car camp along the way or rent one of many U.S. Forest Service cabins available throughout the island.

Stream Fishing

Fish in the many rivers and streams along the road system for salmon or trout.

Ocean Fishing

Charter fish or rent your own skiff to fish the ocean for salmon, rockfish and halibut.

Visit the native villages of Kasaan, Hydaburg or Klawock and see a historic clan house and totem poles.

SITKA BLACK-TAIL DEER

Sitka deer are smaller than other types of black-tailed deer. Their coats are reddish-brown in the summer, and darken to a gray-brown in the winter.

Halibut

Halibut is the largest flat fish, averaging 24-30 pounds, but it has been reported to grow up to 700 pounds.
