Visit Chief Shakes Island and Tribal House historic monument, Petroglyph Beach State Historic Park and Wrangell Museum.
All five species of Alaskan salmon are found in Wrangell: king, chum, pink, coho and sockeye. Peak fishing season for salmon ranges from May through September, depending on the species, although king salmon can be caught year round.
Brown and black bears are abundant in Wrangell and can be seen on bear-viewing tours and excursions. They feed on the salmon in nearby rivers.
